Luisa D’Annunzio: le ragioni di un nome

The contribution’s intent is to explain the path that has led to the choice of the name “Luisa D’Annunzio”, at first for the Corporation and afterwards for the Musical High School, through the study of D’Annunzio’s correspondence which is kept at the “Fondazione il Vittoriale degli Italiani”.
The analysis shows not only the close relationship existing between Gabriele D’Annunzio and his mother, but also the unique consideration that the cultural and political personalities of the time had towards Luisa D’Annunzio, who received a sort of worship by the population of Pescara.
