Un ritorno al futuro: le dinamiche della musica classica a Pescara

This contribution examines the role of classical music in the most general cultural landmarks of the city of Pescara, with its peculiarities and specifically referred to the last decades: concert institutions, school institutions and production networks, newspapers and music reviews, craft workshops, business activities, orchestras and ensembles, choral activities, concert halls and theatres. It is possible to highlight strengths and weaknesses in various fields, along with rough indications that could improve the musical offer and the dynamics relevant to classical music appreciation according to the social, political and economic features of the city. Special attention is dedicated to the prominent role that the Conservatory “Luisa D’Annunzio” has acquired over time, which can also be considered as a stronghold of the city’s classical music network.
