AFAM Reform Bill (nr. 508/1999), that became law at the beginning of the 3rd Millennium, has deeply changed old habits and has raised a number of issues that, until now, have not been completely clarified or solved.
The main issue involving the entire AFAM system and the Conservatory “L. D’Annunzio” in particular, can be summarized in one single question which is only apparently simple: how to manage the Conservatory in the new Millennium in order to face the challenges determined by the Reform Bill nr. 508/1999?
To answer effectively this question, the answers provided can by no means be defined as simple: in the two interviews, Enrico Perigozzo (former Director from January 2005 to October 31st 2011) and Massimo Magri (former Director from November 2011 to October 31st 2017) spoke about the complexity of the strategies and of the initiatives that they both employed in order to lead the Conservatory “L. D’Annunzio” into the 3rd Millennium. Therefore the topics of the interviews not only examined the strategies employed to face the huge quantity of difficulties due to the delay in issuing the Reform Bills for Conservatories (nr. 508/1999) but also the most significant choices that characterized their leaderships.
What makes interesting and especially significant their interviews are the criteria employed to identify and begin new training courses, new disciplines and departments as well as the critical points arisen after these choices and the way they were dealt with.
One last and crucial subject that was discussed in the interviews was the relation with the local district, how the importance of the Conservatory has grown within the urban and regional social context and which partnerships have been launched both on a national and international level.
